Dr. Hu has excellent experience in mentoring trainees at different levels. Many of his trainees have received international and national awards, accepted into top graduate schools (like Oxford, Cambridge, UCLA, CMU, Toronto, UBC, McGill), and employed in high-tech companies (like Google, Microsoft, Amazon).
Dr. Hu is currently recruiting two postdoctoral fellows and multiple MSc and PhD students in 2023. All accepted full time postdoctoral fellows and PhD and MSc students will be provided with full funding. We have internal funds to support 1-2 summer, co-op, or internship research students every year.
Applicants should have backgrounds in statistics, computer science, or human genetics or chemistry with strong programming skills.
Applicants who are interested in applying for federal and local funding (NSERC Undergraduate Summer Research Award, CIHR Undergraduate Summer Student Health Research Award, etc.) for summer research, please contact the PI to discuss the applications as early as possible (January -March).
